FAQ

Here at Nutriflair, we know that supplements can be a daunting subject to people who aren’t familiar with how they work. Why would someone need liver support? What’s the difference between Ceylon cinnamon and the stuff that’s in your spice rack? What are those strange words such as Garcinia Cambogia and Turmeric Curcumin? Let’s take a look at some of the most frequently asked questions we get.

Why Choose A Supplement Made in the USA?

When you choose a supplement made in the United States, you can be assured that you’re getting a quality product that is made in a regulated facility. Supplements shipped in from overseas might be subject to that country’s lax regulations, or might not be regulated at all. This means you could get fillers, dangerous chemicals, or even nothing but sugar.

Where Do The Ingredients Come From?

We source the ingredients from the locations in which they grow best. Take our Ceylon cinnamon pills, for instance. Ceylon cinnamon, also known as true cinnamon, only comes from Sri Lanka...so that’s where we get it from!

Do You Ship Quickly?

Absolutely. We know you’re interested in finding out how well our supplements work for you, and that means we’re not going to keep you waiting! We’ll ship within a day of receiving your order.

Are Your Supplements All-Natural?

Yes. You don’t have to worry about any artificial chemicals, additives, or preservatives when you purchase from Nutriflair.

Are They GMO-Free Supplements?

Some of them are. Simply take a look at the label on each product page to find out if a particular supplement in GMO-free or not.

Are They Vegan Supplements?

We do carry some supplements that are vegan. While we use a gelatin base for some supplements, others use plant-based cellulose. If you take a look at a particular product’s label and it says that it’s vegan, you can be assured that there was no milk, egg, fish, or any animal-derived substance used in it.

Are They Gluten-Free Supplements?

Most are. Simply take a look at the labels on each product page to find out if the particular supplement was made without gluten.

Why Are So Many People Taking Supplements?

Not everyone grows up eating certain foods that are only found in specific parts of the world, so they’re not able to reap the benefits. That means the only way for them to take advantage of a particular plant is to take it in supplement form.

What Time of Day Should Supplements Be Taken?

It all depends on the particular supplement you’re talking about. Some work better if taken with food, others are better taken 30 minutes before a meal so that the gut can work on them a bit before solid food is introduced. For a detailed rundown of when you should take our high-quality supplements, click here. Also, be sure to read the label on any supplement that you choose to take.

Are There Any Side Effects?

Since our pharmaceutical-grade supplements are generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA, side effects tend to be non-existent or very mild. (See the previous heading regarding how some of these can be alleviated by simply changing the time of day you take them.) To learn more about possible mild side effects, click here for warnings about taking too much of each supplement.

Should I Talk To My Doctor First?

Our pharmaceutical-grade supplements are GRAS, which means “generally recognized as safe” by the food and drug administration. As long as you follow the directions on the label and only take the recommended amount, you shouldn’t have any problems.

Making any changes to your diet or exercise routine is usually a good idea, though. If you’ve read dozens of online articles talking about the benefits of turmeric supplements and your doctor says it’s perfectly fine for your particular health state, then we look forward to your order!

Who Shouldn’t Take Supplements?

There are three groups of people who are advised to refrain from taking supplements that aren’t specifically recommended by their doctors: pregnant women, people under the age of 18, and anyone with a pre-existing medical condition. (This last one is especially true for anyone who might be undergoing surgery anytime soon.) Read more about the reasons why these groups of people shouldn’t take these supplements (without a doctor’s permission) here.

Are Pharmaceutical-Grade Supplements Medicine?

No, they are not. They are not considered prescription medicine or over-the-counter (OTC) medicine. They are supplements that are GRAS (generally recognized as safe) by the FDA, but they are not medicine. While their efficacy has often been recognized by independent lab studies, our customers, and other cultures for thousands of years, it has not been studied by the FDA. Each one bears the disclaimer “This statement has not been evaluated by the FDA. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Individual results may vary.”

What Are Probiotics?

Are Colon Cleanses For Me?

There is a theory about digestive health called autointoxication. This states that food gets stuck in the colon and begins to purify, releasing toxins as it does. As the intestines are excellent at absorbing things into the bloodstream, they also absorb these toxins.

Proponents of colon cleanses believe that flushing out the system ever so often is a great way to move all of that putrefied food matter out of the body. Our psyllium husk pills are high in fiber and can help you flush that unused food away. Read more about the process right here.
